As most of you may know, I write as an expression of how I am feeling. Reflections of past experiences, dreams of those yet to come. Mostly, I write to heal and in the hope that if one reader resonates, my words may touch them in a way that brings them some comfort, or a feeling of support for what they may be feeling from their own experiences, yet are unable to express.
Often, a photograph or artwork will inspire a verse or story, and this is one dear to my heart that I have decided to share. I trust you will enjoy it, and if you are able you can listen to the audio version to truly understand the depth of verse.
Emergence
One day it emerged.
After what seemed a lifetime of treading on shattered paths, amidst a drought of empathy, yearning for raindrops of compassion while evading the vultures that feasted on the fraying strands of hope, one day, it emerged.
Perhaps it had been there all along, veiled by the tears that streamed down my face, blurring my vision throughout the weary miles.
Perhaps I had been distracted, breath shortened, heart racing, my mind fixated on the specters of what and who was behind me. Fearful of who was to come.
After what seemed a lifetime of navigating broken terrain, chasing after what others had stolen, my quest obscured by their cruel intentions masked as care, it emerged.
Once stolen, yet never forgotten. One day, it emerged.
How potent its presence. How enduring it remains.
Amidst the tempest storm, it emerged. She, in her full essence, emerged.
As writers, we love to know who are readers are and how are words make them feel. It inspires us to keep creating knowing that you are enjoying our words. If are comfortable in doing so, please do leave a comment or feedback. Thank you!
Rebecca for you ....." She stood alone, with heart so bold,
Her dreams ahead, her fears untold.
With courage strong and will so bright,
She took each step, with all her might.
Obstacles came, but she didn't sway,
She pushed ahead, day after day.
With every fall, she rose again,
Determined to reach the end of her lane.
The path was long, the journey tough,
But she never gave up, she was enough.
For her dreams were worth every fight,
And she proved that courage can ignite.
With persistence and a heart so true,
She reached her goals, and saw them through.
For nothing can stop a soul so brave,
Who never gives up, and always forgave.
So take a cue from this tale of might,
And never give up on your dreams in sight.
For with courage and persistence, you'll find,
That you can conquer and leave fears behind."
